I'm Helena & this is my personal website.
I currently work at METR, where I'm trying to find the best people in the world for the world's most wicked problems. I just wrapped up running the Generator Residency at Constellation, a program to magnify AI safety generalists and fieldbuilders. I think mitigating catastrophic risks from AI is one of the most important things to ensure the future goes well, and there is a lot of work to do.
Before that, I studied applied math & computer science at UC Irvine, and more importantly, founded AI Safety Collective at Irvine (AISCI). Besides that, I did some technical AI safety research on deception and collusion in LLMs as a research fellow at University of Chicago's Existential Risk Lab and SPAR, and as a project lead at AISC.
In my free time, I like to dance, write fiction, make all sorts of art, and host events for my dear friends. I care a lot about making the world a more beautiful place. Finally, I think it's very cool when people reach out to me through finding my site, so please do!
